2009 Culinary Expo
With the inception of the Food Network some years ago, the art of food has become a bigger phenomenon then ever before. Television has made food more than the good stuff we eat on a daily basis. Millions of people all around the world are now treated to all the ins and out of food including the great restaurants, food competitions and of course good ol’ cooking shows.
The students of the High Road School of Providence have been able to turn their desire and interest in cooking and have become chefs in the making. This school year, the High Road School of Providence has established a Culinary Program to teach aspiring chefs

the skills necessary to prepare delicious food for varying audiences. Under the supervision of Jesse Simms, the students have learned how to prepare various types of meals from casual to formal, simple to difficult. Over the last several months the students have become known for their Italian Food. In fact, it was their Italian cuisine that was on display at the Culinary Expo.
The students prepared a full meal from salad to pizza to chicken parmesan and of course pasta. The students have also been working on their hosting skills also know as working the front of the house. They presented each course to the group of Related Service Providers who were being hosted for a luncheon on this day. As expected, the guests were most impressed by not only the food prepared by the students but the pride and professionalism they displayed while serving and describing each
course.
It is amazing how quickly the students have learned the many culinary skills that they have taught within a year’s time. The culinary students have garnered a great deal of respect throughout the school. We are so excited about all accomplished this year and can’t wait to taste what they learn next year
